Sharks Look Strong As They Head To End Of Season

Senior Alexandra Young led the Sharks with double wins in the 1600m with a  time of 5:29.9 (School Record) and the 800m with a time of 2:29.9 (lifetime best), as the Sharks devoured the Harbor Pirates, 
73 to 38.
Senior Abigal Magno won the Triple Jump with a leap of 30'6", and also placed 1st in the 300m Hurdles with a season-best time of 58.14. Magno wasn't done yet though, placing 2nd in the  Long Jump for the Sharks. Sophomore Tina Arthur placed 1st in the High Jump with a season-best 4'4", 2nd in the 300m Hurdles with a season-best 58.81, and 2nd in the 100m Hurdles. Senior Caitlyn Hurley finished 1st in the Long Jump with a leap of 14'8" (season best), 2nd in the High Jump with a 4'2", and 2nd in the Triple Jump with 30'5"(season best).
Freshman Caitlin Croghan placed 1st in the 3200m (lifetime best). Junior Lulu Alvarez finished 1st in the Pole Vault, 2nd in the Shot Put with a 27'11". Freshman Eleri Mahoney contributed with a 2nd place finish in the 200m and a 3rd place in the High Jump.

On the men's side, Harbor just snuck past St. Francis, 55-48. 
Senior Jack Caldwell led the Sharks to a valiant effort. Caldwell finished with a 1st in the 400m in a time of 53.62 as well as a 1st in the 800m in 2:06.1. Freshman Joey Olmeda won the Triple Jump with a leap of 23'3", as well as the High Jump in 4'0". Junior Clancy Ryan was 1st in the Shot Put with a throw of 33'9", while another win was posted by Sophomore Jose Garcia in the 300m Hurdles, which he ran in 49.1. 
Junior Dean Fryn clocked a season-best 400m time with a 55.98 for a 2nd place finish. Sophomore Jorge Flores-Fuentes was 3rd in the 3200m with a season best time of 13:29. The foursome of Caldwell, Olmeda, Ryan, and Flores-Fuentes teamed up for a 2nd place finish in the 1600m relay.
The Sharks will be back in action for the SCCAL Trials at 4pm on May 3rd at SLV. After that, the Sharks will compete in the SCCAL Championship Finals on May 5th at SLV. Start time is 12pm for the Field events and 1pm for the Track events.
