Sharks Come Up Short Against Aptos

In a wet and muddy home game, the sharks started off strong, but couldn't hold off Aptos, eventually falling 7-0. Aptos wasn't able to put in a goal until 25 minutes into the first half.  Senior goalie and captain Gabi Pezzini did an astounding job. She made professional-calibur saves and kept the score down for the sharks. Aptos was finally able to break through and score 4 goals in the first half.   Freshmen Karla Vasquez and Jane Salady were able to make great offensive plays, helping the sharks get close to Aptos' goal. In the second half, Sophomore and Captain Alexis Lily made an amazing difference for the sharks defense and was able to send many long balls foreward to our offense.  Sophomore Hailey Robinette played a very tough game, standing up to many of Aptos' forwards and shutting them down. Again, keeper Gabi Pezzini kept the scoring minimal with great saves all around and only allowed 3 goals in the second half.
